Recipe for a Delicious Celebration
Mom and I share a birthday, and we usually share a cake, so it has to be one we both love. Problem solved. This easy cake offers marshallow cream, fudge sauce, and nuts. Plus it's served warm and gooey.
Not only do we celebrate annually with Mississippi Mud Cake, but it's the cake my kids often choose for their birthdays. And now you can, as well. Here's the recipe in case you need a quick and delicious desert for your celebration.
Mississippi Mud Cake
Ingredients:
Cake
Devil's Food cake mix
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Fudge Sauce
1 stick butter
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/3 cup milk
4 cups powdered sugar
Other
7 oz marshmallow cream
1 cup toasted pecans
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and spray 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine all cake ingredients in large bowl with a mixer. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 40-45 minutes.
Remove cake from oven and immediately spread marshmallow cream over the top.
Melt butter over low heat then whisk in cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Once sauce boils, remove from heat and mix in powdered sugar until thick and smoothe.
Poor over cake while still hot and sprinkle with nuts.
It's good cold too, but why wait? Enjoy!
Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday to all, and to all a good bite!
