"Flight Attendant Finds" Giveaway

Leading up to my upcoming flight attendant novel, I'm offering a monthly giveaway of fun things I find on my travels as a flight attendant!

My first giveaway comes from Seattle (where the story is set). Along with this cute mug, you can also win coffee dust. Coffee dust originated in Washington and is a mix of spices that will flavor your beverage without added calories.

To enter this contest, all you have to do is let me know what kind of gifts I should be looking for when visiting your home state. I've enjoyed reading responses and have mapped them out below.

Thanks to all who've entered so far. Some states had too many suggestions to list while others didn't have any. (None of you live next to me in Utah???)

I tried to write down everyone's ideas, but they didn't all fit, so those who responded first had a better chance of making it on the map. I'll sum up the most unexpected suggestions below.

  1. Everyone seems to be really proud of their cheese and maple syrup.

  2. I thought my home state of Idaho cornered the market on potatoes, but apparently Maine in known for their potato candy, and Arkansas serves sweet potatoes in a variety of forms--including sweet potato coffee, which I sampled last week and enjoyed more than pumpkin spice.

  3. California is trying to give away their governor. LOL

Last week, I visited Arkansas. Author Tricia Goyer took me shopping (like my bougie-ish hat?) and gave me a tour. It's a fun place to visit, and our day included stops at the mill featured in the opening credits of Gone with the Wind and the capitol building where we plotted a heist story while holding over half a million dollars.

This week, I'm heading to Chicago for the JustReads Rendezvous (it's not too late to register) and the Christy Awards. A couple of the novellas in my Christmas collection We Three Kings are finalists for the award, so I'm looking forward to the banquet and to meeting many of you!

I'm also picking up another giveaway while in Illinois. What else should I be looking for? What's missing on my map?

Enter this month's giveaway by commenting below for your chance to win the Seattle prize pack, and make sure you're signed up for my newsletter to find out what you could win next month!

Lived in lots of states (born in CA) and in Japan, but since I live in Utah now and it's empty - I'm not really sure since most of the state is hooked on soda and sugar it seems like. I like the nifty dried apples from a farmstand. There are a lot of styles of rocks/crystals that are gorgeous - (here's some - Moqui marbles, Dugway geodes, Wonderstone, Topaz, Opal, Petrified wood or Septarian Nodule . Photos of Arches, or Park City, Bryce Canyon, Silver Lake or Bear Lake.

From Michigan I would say a Petoskey stone or a yooperlite

Thought I commented somewhere... from WA state, I would give blueberries and yes, farmhouse cheese. From the Columbia River (half of it is in WA), salmon.

Just in case I didn’t do it right before, I live in Western NC and my corner of the state is easy! Black bears call these mountains home, along with elk, and huge herds of white tailed deer. We’re known for Carolina BBQ sauce, Biltmore wine, and being the home to Krispy Crème doughnuts. Waterfalls are also in high concentration throughout the region and the Cherokee Indians call our mountains home along with the rich history of being part of southern Appalachia.

Thanks so much for the chance!
