Download my Debut Novel FREE for a Limited Time
You may have read my latest series, but have you heard of my book that started it all? Along with this link to your free download, I'm including five fun facts about Finding Love in Sun Valley.
The story was originally set in Sweet Home, Oregon, but the publisher had too many Oregon stories and asked me to move it to Sun Valley. I live in Idaho, but had never visited the resort town, so my bestie and I took a road trip for research.
I sold the manuscript off the proposal alone (three chapters), then my first husband left me. I had to write a romance as my marriage fell apart. I quit writing romance after that until I met Mr. Strong, and now there's nothing else I'd rather write. Love changes lives.
The book first released under the pen name Angela Ruth as Love Finds You in Sun Valley. When the publisher closed their doors, I got my rights back and rereleased it as Finding Love in Sun Valley under the name Angela Ruth Strong. Then I wrote four more love stories for the hero's brothers, and they are all available on Kindle Unlimited as the Resort to Love Series.
Finding Love in Sun Valley was optioned for film but turned out to be too expensive and dangerous due to the whitewater rafting scenes. Thankfully, the sequel, Finding Love in Big Sky, did end up shooting on location in Montana. You can watch the movie on Amazon Prime, and you might notice Mr. Strong and me dancing in the cowboy ball scene.
It's been fourteen years since Sun Valley released, so imagine my surprise when a reader brought a first edition to last week's JustReads Rendezvous for my autograph. Apparently, the novel started her journey into Christian fiction, and she'd been disappointed when she couldn't find any other books by “Angela Ruth.” She now holds a dear place in my heart, and I figured it was time to explain the connection between my debut novel and what I'm writing today.
I hope you enjoy the love story as much as Melissa did! And remember, this deal only lasts from November 21-25, though it will still be free on Kindle Unlimited after that.
